Every year, on National Adoption Day, the 65th District Court, Judge Yahara Lisa Gutierrez holds Adoption Day.

On this day, the Court celebrates numerous adoption hearings. In 2020, sixteen children were adopted by El Paso families. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the celebrations were held virtually. Due to the hard work of the 65th District Court and the Department of Family & Protective Services, sixteen children were adopted by their permanent families. The EPWBA provides gifts to the children, and gift cards for their families.
